Flywheel PTO Systems
Flywheel Power Take-Off (PTO) systems provide uninterrupted power transfer directly from the engine to auxiliary equipment. We engineer these heavy-duty units to support special application vehicles that require continuous pump operations during transit. The system mounts securely between the engine and transmission, delivering high-torque mechanical power for the most demanding firefighting and industrial applications.
Continuous Power for Pump-and-Roll Operations
A standard transmission PTO disengages when the operator presses the clutch, which interrupts vital equipment operation. The Flywheel PTO solves this limitation by drawing power directly from the engine flywheel. This allows for vital pump-and-roll functionality, ensuring continuous pumping operations while driving. This capability is essential for Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles, Rapid Intervention Vehicles, and Water Tankers that must simultaneously drive and execute firefighting attacks.
Features
1. True Pump-and-Roll Capability
The system provides a dedicated pump and roll PTO for simultaneous driving and firefighting. The attached pump remains fully operational regardless of gear shifts or clutch engagement.
2. Continuous Power Delivery
The unit draws mechanical power straight from the engine block. This ensures steady, uninterrupted power delivery to high-capacity centrifugal water pumps and heavy-duty hydraulic systems.
3. High Torque Output
Engineers build the Flywheel PTO to handle massive industrial torque requirements. It transfers heavy loads without slipping, stalling, or suffering performance drops during critical operations.
4. Heavy-Duty Construction
The rugged metallic housing and reinforced internal gearing withstand extreme operating conditions. The robust design absorbs the intense vibrations of emergency response environments and off-road transit.
5. Seamless Chassis Integration
The compact sandwich design mounts cleanly between the engine and the transmission. This provides straightforward installation, minimal drivetrain disruption, and broad compatibility with standard commercial truck chassis.
